Homemade Card Boxes

Pinned Image

Card

 Box
Supplies: Boxes(2 round, one heart shaped-Hobby Lobby 50% off) Ribbon(Hobby Lobby 50% off) paint(Michael's 50% off) brushes(Hobby Lobby 50%off) xacto knife(Hobby Lobby) beads(Hobby Lobby 50% off) paper glue (Hobby Lobby) large letter (Michael's 50% off)

1. First I figured out how I wanted my boxes stacked and how many along with what kind. I stacked them and used a pencil to trace each lid that had another box on it. This was so i didn't waste time or paint to cover an area which wouldn't be seen. Then I painted 2 coats to each box and lid.

2. Then I cut the area i traced out of the bottom boxes lid and glued the middle box to the bottom box. I then glued the heart shaped top box to the middle. I did not glue the bottom boxes lid to the bottom box so that I could easily get the cards out by simply lifting the lid.

3. I then used the xacto knife to cut my card slot on the middle box so the cards could fall into the bottom. I thought it might not turn out good since i waited to do this last but with the xacto knife it worked perfect. I then made bows out of ribbon and glued then to my box along with steamers of ribbon.

4. I put black shiny beads around my card slot and will be using a hott pink floralytes to the middle box lid so that the pink light will shine through the card slot. I thought this will look really nice!

5. For my letter on top, I painted the front and back one color and the sides and inside another color then used paper glue to glue it on there.
